Organised by Paper Communication Exhibition Services, “The 12th China (Dongguan) Int’l Textile & Clothing Industry Fair” (DTC 2011) and “The 12th China (Dongguan) Int’l Footwear Machinery & Material Industry Fair” (DFM 2011) will commence today. From 28 March, DTC & DFM will be staged at Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center, Houjie, Dongguan. Renowned as the largest textile & clothing fair in South China, together with the footwear machinery & material fair, it attracts around 400 exhibitors, together providing buyers an ideal purchasing platform.

This year, exhibitors are coming from different countries and cities, including China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Italy, Taiwan, USA and so on, showcasing latest equipment and technology on sewing, embroidery, weaving, CAD/CAM, printing, RFID, accessories and so forth.

To assist exhibitors to grasp more business opportunities, a number of organizations form buyers’ group to visit our fair, for instance, Hong Kong Garment Fashion Practitioners Association, Hong Kong Institute of Textile & Apparel, Institute of Textiles & Clothing of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Design Institute and so on.

At the fair, the Organiser again organizes a variety of competitions. “The 5th Em~touching Int’l Embroidery Design Competition” will showcase all shortlisted designs and visitors may participate to vote for their favourite artwork; offering CAD/CAM technicians to show off their skills, “The 5th Marker Layout Competition” is another highlight of the related activities of the year.

Another highlight of the fair, Technical Seminar, will be hosted by professionals from different countries and cities to study the hot topics of textile & clothing industry with visitors. The Organizer has invited Dr. Sammy Mo & Dr. Simon Yau from Hong Kong Productivity Council to discuss about the green technology on textiles; Mr. Paul Choi & Mr. Alan Wong from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University will share the new generation system for garment accessories and fabric inventory management. Furthermore, Mr. Peter Mangione, Managing Director of Global Footwear Partnership, will analyze the global footwear consumption; Mr. Steve Rose from SATRA will discuss with buyers on the ways to ensure fitness for purpose in footwear components.

“The 12th China (Dongguan) Int’l Footwear Machinery and Material Industry Fair” (DFM 2011) is held concurrently. As in the past, “Hong Kong Footwear Design Pavilion”, organized by The Federation of Hong Kong Footwear, will showcase the winners of “Hong Kong Footwear Design Competition”.
