Hosted by Paper Communication Exhibition Services and Guangdong Sewing Equipment Chamber of Commerce, the Opening Ceremony of “The 10th China (Dongguan) Int’l Textile & Clothing Industry Fair and The 4th South China Int’l Sewing Machinery & Accessories Show” is organized on 4 March (Wednesday) at 11:30am at Foyer, Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Centre, Houjie, Dongguan.

The Organiser claimed that, they are honoured to invite over 10 delegates from Chinese Government and the textile & clothing industry, officiates the opening ceremony: Mr. Pan Rihui, General Secretary of Dongguan Association of Textile & Garment Industry; Mr. Li Yuet Leong, Chairman of Hong Kong (SME) Economic and Trade Promotional Association; Mr. Felix Chung, Chairman of Hong Kong Apparel Society Limited; Dr. Gordon Yen, Chairman of Hong Kong Association of Textile Bleachers, Dyers, Printers and Finishers; Mr. Leung Fok Lam, Chairman of Hong Kong Sewing Machine Association; Prof. Tao Xiaoming, Chair Professor and Head of Institute of Textiles & Clothing – The Hong Kong Polytechnic University; Mr. Arkin Ng, Chairman of Textile Institute Association (Hong Kong) Ltd; Mr. Xin Yong Xian, General Manager of China North Optical-Electrical Technology Co., Ltd, Mr. Kokichi Shirota, President of Juki (Hong Kong) Ltd; Mr. Ricky Lo, Managing Director of Yamato (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd.; Mr. Liang Fo Xiang, Vice Director of China Sewing Machinery Association and President of Guangdong Sewing Equipment Chamber of Commerce & Mr. Leung Tin Fu, Managing Director of Paper Communication Exhibition Services.

Mr. Leung Tin Fu, Managing Director of the Organiser, Paper Communication Exhibition Services shows that, under the financial tsunami, companies in South China is currently facing severe challenges and they deeply understand the currently situation. To deal with the global financial crisis, the Chinese government unveils more industry-specific stimulus measures on 4 Feb, by raising the rebate to 15 per cent from 14 per cent and boosting domestic demand. We also carry out measures so as to further promote exhibitor’s business by providing “free exhibits forwarding service at exhibition hall”, “free supply of electricity, water & compressed air for machinery” and so on. On the other hand, “Hotel Sponsorship Scheme” is launched to offer hotel accommodation to buyers from overseas and outside Guangdong province. This aims at attracting more new buyers to the fair, so as to explore more business opportunities.

This year, over 200 exhibitors from different countries and cities gather in the fair. They include China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Italy, Taiwan, the United States and so on. The Organiser claimed that the list of exhibitors encompasses a number of well-known brands like Juki, Yamato Durkopp and Pfaff of sewing, Jakob Mueller & KY of weaving and knitting, Tajima and SWF of embroidery, Gerber, Modular, Shima Seiki, Takatori and PGM of CAD/CAM.

Furthermore, the fair is well-known of innovation and quality services. New ideas can be found every year. Apart from “The 3rd Em~touching Int’l Embroidery Design Competition” and “The 3rd Marker Layout Competition”, “Knitwear Design Competition” is newly launched this year to enrich the content of the exhibition, as well as promote the cultural exchange of design between Hong Kong and China. Hosted by the professionals from different countries and cities, “Technical Seminars” provide visitors the hottest topics in textile and clothing industry and encourage the technology exchange of visitors from Pearl River Delta.
