“The 15th China (Dongguan) Int’l Textile & Clothing Industry Fair (DTC 2014)” and “The 15th China (Dongguan) Int’l Footwear Machinery & Material Industry Fair” (DFM 2014), two renowned clothing & footwear industry fairs in Dongguan, will be staged at GD Modern International Exhibition Center on April 1-4, 2014. State-of-the-art clothing & footwear machineries and technologies of the world will be exhibited in the fairs, through which exhibitors and buyers can explore business opportunities.
The renowned DTC and DFM attract over 350 exhibitors, coming from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, India, Germany, Korea, Italy, the US, France, Switzerland and more. The two fairs gather elites from the clothing & footwear industries. “The 15th China (Dongguan) Int’l Footwear Machinery & Material Industry Fair” (DFM 2014) will be staged at the same time. Exhibits include footwear machinery, production line, vamp production, packaging machine, leather processing machine, leather, synthetic leather and more. Exhibitors include: Eyko、Sunrise、Luxin、Jia Long、Chin-ei、Youli、Qifeng、Jinyuelai。
“Hong Kong Footwear Design Pavilion” is the highlight of DFM every year. This year, “Hong Kong Footwear Design Pavilion” will showcase the awarded pieces of “The Hong Kong Footwear Design Competition” organized by The Federation of Hong Kong Footwear (1970). The competition has six categories: Men’s Shoes, Ladies’ Boots, Ladies’ Sandals, Ladies’ Shoes, Children’s Shoes, Ladies’ Shoes and Bags. Over a thousand entries were received. Ms Cheung Siu Fong, student of School of Continuing and Professional Studies, CUHK, is the winner of “Ladies’ Sandals” and “Ladies’ Shoes and Bags”, as well as the “Overall Winner”. The piece awarded with “Belle Overall Winner” and “Ladies’ Shoes and Bags Gold Prize” is “Dragon Gate”, which was inspired by “Dragon Gate” of “Finca Guell” designed by famous Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. Ms Cheung uses metal, snake leather and crystal beads to show the beauty of “Dragon Gate”. As for the children’s shoes, lego and clown are some of the inspirations, while the ladies’ boots are inspired by Hong Kong housing and men’s shoes are based on the design of warriors’ shoes. These shoes let visitors from around the world to know more about Hong Kong design. These creative designs also promote Hong Kong to be an international design centre.
In recent years, some of the manufacturers of the Pearl Delta region set up their production facilities in provinces outside Guangdong. The trend brings buyers from Jiangxi, Guangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxu, Fujian to visit the fairs. Overseas visitors coming from Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia are also on the rise.
